Happy Halloween -- Fun Candy Corn Cupcake Recipe

Happy Halloween! Let me tell you why I'm so excited about Halloween this year....I finally have a reason to celebrate it: my little 11-month old baby! And let me tell you how adorable he looks in his costume.

Any holiday is a good excuse to bake cupcakes, so here's another great recipe from Love From the Oven. The recipe is actually one that's modified from McCormick, with cake pops added on top.

Have a fun and safe Halloween! And make sure you "test" all of your kids candy.

September just ended, so onto Halloween season. And before we know it, Christmas will be here. Ahhh! Let's take one step at a time.

With the hundreds of cupcake, baking, and food blogs I read, I come across lots of fun ideas for Halloween cupcakes. Enjoy!

Little Hobgoblin Sundaes

Fall is here and I'm so happy!

Fall means the start of great holiday baking. Fun Halloween treats and pumpkin desserts are my favorite parts. I'll be featuring my favorite new desserts finds over the next few months (then it's onto Thanksgiving and Christmas!!).

Cheeky Kitchen posted photos, a recipe, and instructions for Little Hobgoblin Sundaes. They caught my eye because I thought they were cupcakes.

These fun treats are made with chocolate chunk cookies, dipped in chocolate, dipped in green and yellow swirled Trix, topped with vanilla bean ice cream, drizzled with chocolate, and topped with a "goblin-covered cherry."

You can find more photos and the recipe on Cheeky Kitchen's website. Happy early Halloween baking!

Cupcake Costume

It seems like I was just in Hawaii setting off fireworks, yet there are signs everywhere of back-to-school, Halloween, and dare I say Christmas! Ahhhh! It really is true that sign flies the older you get.

Pottery Barn Kids has their Halloween costumes up on their website already and the Cupcake Costume is so adorable. Having a super adorable girl wearing the costume doesn't hurt the image either. The Cupcake Costume is $59 and available in sizes 2T-3T, 4-6, and 7-8. Don't forget the matching Cupcake Treat Bag!

Pumpkin Pie Bites

You remember Bakerella's cupcake bites that I love to make? Well, Bakerella is back with a new twist for autumn -- Pumpkin Pie Bites! Mini desserts are so perfect, especially when you don't feel like eating a whole slice of pie.

How to make these sweet holiday treats: Bakerella uses ready to roll refrigerated pie crust. Using pre-made pie crust makes this recipe so much easier to bake. The filling for these pies is found in her post. Bakerella bakes these mini pies in a mini cupcake baking tin.

You can decorate for Halloween (see Jack-o-lantern pumpkins above) or Thanksgiving (see mini pumpkin pies below). Can't wait to bake these for my family!
