Halloween Cupcakes 2010

September just ended, so onto Halloween season. And before we know it, Christmas will be here. Ahhh! Let's take one step at a time.

Halloween. I've come to realize that this holiday is so much fun if you have kids. But not so much fun without kids, so I enjoy Halloween by baking lots of fun treats. With the hundreds of cupcake, baking, and food blogs I read, I come across lots of fun ideas for Halloween cupcakes. Enjoy!

Duncan Hines Halloween Cupcakes

Duncan Hines' website has some great Halloween-inspired cupcake recipes using Duncan Hines cake mix and frosting.

The cream cheese filling in the middle of these Devil's food "Spooky Surprise Cupcakes" looks delicious!

You can also check out other Halloween cupcake recipes and decorating ideas from Duncan Hines that come from their partnership with best-selling cookbook "Hello, Cupcake!". See the pictures and recipes here.

Even though it's not a cupcake, this Pumpkin Spice Cake is too cute! Nice touch of adding the ice cream cone in the middle of the cake for the pumpkin stem.

Divine Desserts Halloween Cupcakes

I'm not sure how it's possible, but I still haven't made it to Divine Desserts Etc. in Laguna Niguel yet. It's a bit far to drive to just stop by, but the next time I visit my family in Rancho Santa Margarita, I just might have to.

For Halloween Divine Desserts has Jack-O-Cupcakes. The cupcakes are available in gingerbread, pumpkin, and spice flavors. Their cupcakes are $3.00 each. Divine Desserts also has cookies, muffin tops, and frosting shots available for purchase.

Halloween Cupcakes 2009

Summer just ended a few days ago, yet I'm ready to transition into autumn and winter. The only problem is this awful hot weather. It was 100 degrees when I left my Chino office on Tuesday. Ugh!

I can pretend it's cold outside. I've already started eating soup, daydreaming about snowboarding in Mammoth, and thinking about my Halloween costume. I can't wait!

The first big holiday of the season is Halloween, so let's get started doing some Halloween baking. Check out the cupcakes I found:

Meringue Bake Shop is a made-to-order cupcake cupcakery based out of Orange County. I reviewed Meringue's cupcakes when they were being sold at Bliss Yogurt in Orange. I love Meringue's flavors because they are so unique compared to the normal vanilla, red velvet, or chocolate. Which flavors look tastiest to you?

Scary!

Here I am enjoying summer and I am rudely interrupted by the opening of Halloween stores. Ahhh!! Is summer really almost over? I wish getting older didn't mean time goes by faster.

So here you go, brain cupcakes to mark the end of summer and the impending Halloween season. Red velvet raspberry cake with French vanilla cream cheese frosting and a chocolate brain (made with miniature brain molds).

Halloween Cupcakes

October is one of my favorite months of the year! It is the start of Autumn and it begins my excitement for cold weather, snowboarding, my birthday, and Christmas. The month is already flying by so fast...it is almost Halloween! I haven't decided how I will be decorating my Halloween cupcakes yet, but here are a few of my favorite:
