Bubba Sweets Opens Second Location Today

Bubba Sweets, local cupcake ship & winner of Cupcake Wars, is expanding! Their second location is opening today and will also be in Huntington Beach.

Bubba Sweets has been a Huntington Beach resident for a few years. Two years ago my friends surprised me with a baby shower at Bubba Sweets. Last year they appeared on Cupcake Wars and won. So why haven't I done an official review yet?! Yikes!....I don't know. Guess I need to get my act together since they seem to be successful enough to expand.

Their second cupcake shop is located at 21168 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach, CA. They will be open from 11-8 today. Let me know if you stop by. I'd love to hear the details!

Casey's Cupcakes Opens New Location

Casey's Cupcakes is expanding! On April 6th the Irvine Spectrum became home to their 5th location, their 4th in Orange County. They had a special red carpet event to celebrate the opening, with ribbon-cutting, live DJ, giveaways, and autographs with Casey.

This is not the first cupcake shop to open at the Irvine Spectrum. Sweet Lorraine's came and went in 2008 and was awful. Not surprised to see them close. SweetSpot Baker's Workshop quickly followed and stayed for a few years, but eventually closed too. 

BUT I think Casey's Cupcakes will do well in spite of the previous closings. Casey's has a great following and their cupcakes are pretty good too. I haven't done an official review yet, but from the few I've tasted, they were worth going back for. Good luck to them!

Cupcake Wars Winner has Grand Opening This Weekend

I distinctly remember this episode of Cupcake Wars because I thought it was the best one. Decorating cupcakes for Comic Con sounds like a fun time! Wonderland Custom Cakes was the winner of the Comic Con episode in August, but at the time they were just an online company.

This weekend Wonderland Custom Cakes will open their doors to their own bakery. Join them Saturday, January 14 from 10am-5pm for their grand opening celebration. The flavors of the day include: Royal Red Velvet, Evil Twin (jalapeno carrot cake), Orange, Chocolate Pretzel, Coconut, Vixxxen (red hot red velvet), Peanut Butter Cookie, CinnaSwirl, and Hunka Hunka.

Goodie Girls Grand Opening November 20

I've met Annette Starbuck, owner of Goodie Girls on several occasions. She made her first appearance at the LA Cupcake Challenge this past year and she was a fellow judge at Cupcake Camp OC a few months ago.

On November 20, Annette will be opening her first storefront shop in Glendale, CA. Goodie Girls will serve up her gourmet cupcakes, including her signature variety Pumpkin Pancakes, along with her Cake Ups push pops during the "petite treat affair."

The grand opening event will also feature live music from DJ Arthur Galenstian, savory appetizers catered by Kitchen 12000, a chocolate photo booth by Images Printed on Chocolate, wine by Cupcake Vineyards, decorations by Pom Flair, and sample cupcakes from Goodie Girls. A full menu of Annette's treats will be available for purchase to take home, along with Flirty Girls Aprons, and t-shirts. Also, exclusive specials will be offered for pre-orders on Thanksgiving cupcakes.

Sweet Tooth Fairy Opens New Location

Although I have a race on Saturday, I secretly wish I was going to be in Utah for the grand opening celebration of the Sweet Tooth Fairy's second store. I reviewed the Sweet Tooth Fairy almost three months ago and have been in love with them ever since. Their success has led to the expansion of their second store in Draper, Utah.

Their grand opening celebration takes place on Saturday, March 27 at 10:00am. They will be giving away 100 mini cupcakes on a first come first serve basis. They will also be holding a giveaway for a year's supply of cupcakes (one dozen a month for a year). Oh how I would love that!

Cupcakes for Kids
