LA Cupcake Challenge 2011

Originally posted on Cupcakes Take The Cake:

It's that time of year again...time for the LA Cupcake Challenge. Last year I had a great time tasting cupcakes from a lot of places I hadn't tried before, even finding some new cupcakes that I LOVED. The LA Cupcake Challenge 2011 is only a few weeks away and I can't wait to be a judge again! Some of the favorites from last year will be back and some surprising new entrants will be in attendance too.

Returning for 2011:

My Delight Cupcakery - winner of Best Original and 2nd for Best Overall
Jus Minis - winner of Best Overall and 2nd for Best Original
The Cake Shop
Speakeasy Sweets
Hansen's Cakes
Fairy Cakes Bakery - one of my favorites from last year
Sweet E's Bake Shop - contestant on "Cupcake Wars"

New this year:

Frosting Forever Cake and Cupcakes
The Cake Mamas - one my favorites from Cupcake Camp IE
Goodie Girls
Magnolia Bakery - they opened in LA this past summer and I've been wanting to try!
Cake Pop Los Angeles
Stephanie Sparkles
Bittersweet Treats
STK
Sugar Babies
Hollicakes - I met Holli at this event last year. Can't wait to taste her cupcakes!
Double "D" Cupcakes - I did a feature on them a few months ago
Red Velvet Stefanie - contestant on "Cupcakes Wars"
Top Chef: Just Desserts finalist Danielle Keene

The LA Cupcake Challenge is open to the public, but make sure you buy your tickets soon because they sold out last year. Your ticket buys you a cupcake from each competitor, so the $40 price tag is well worth it. You can purchase tickets here.

February 5, 2010 4:00-7:00pm
Renaissance Hollywood Hotel

You can find more info on the official website here.
I hope to see a lot of you there!

I can't wait! Are we allowed to bring a to-go box!? LOL! That's a lot of cupcakes to taste!

I saw people with to-go boxes last year and I'm planning on bringing one myself. Since you pay for one/two cupcakes from each vendor, you should be allowed to eat them or take them home.
