Review: Glass Slipper Challenge Cupcakes from Jillycakes

My business takes me to Orlando, FL several times a year. As much as I'd like to check out the local cupcake scene, I never have more than a few minutes to scarf down food at the closest restaurant.

Luckily, a friend brought my some treats from Jillcakes. And the best part?....she had them specially designed for the Disney running race that we were there for. So sweet!

Check out these Glass Slipper Challenge mini cupcakes from Jillycakes. Lilttle glass slipper, princess crowns, and our company logo (Sparkle Athletic). Jillycakes is a Cupcake Wars champion from Season 6, so I knew they were going to be good. The two flavors I got to try were S'mores and Boston Cream Pie. Both were delicious!

Besides eating a million cupcakes, the weekend was a success! After working four straight days at the running expo, I got to run the 1/2 marathon on Sunday and dress up. Disney races are the best!

Review: Babycakes at Downtown Disney

On my recent trip to Orlando, FL I found some time to visit Downtown Disney. I live near Downtown Disney in Anaheim, CA and assumed that the Florida would be the same. I have to admit that it's a lot better!

It was so much bigger, had better restaurants, more stores, and a cupcake shop!

Yes, Downtown Disney in Florida has a Babycakes Bakery. Babycakes originated in New York City, but has branched out to LA and Orlando. Babycakes is different than most cupcake shop as their delicacies have no gluten, wheat, dairy, casein, and eggs.

I tried to review Babycakes three years ago when my husband brought my some across the country. They didn't survive and I couldn't review them.

Now was my chance to try a fresh Babycakes cupcake! I actually picked up one cupcake top. Yes, it's just the top of a cupcake! And yes I only picked one item. I really wanted to try the donuts pictured above, but this was the perfect amount of cupcake I needed to satisfy my craving and do a quick review.

I picked a Chocolate Blondie cupcake top and I wasn't impressed. Maybe it's just because I am pro-dairy, gluten, wheat, and egg, but this cupcake just didn't do it for me. Maybe if I was vegan I might be satisfied with my pick, but this cupcake lacked the buttery frosting and sweet cake.

I'm a cupcake snob. Yes I admit it. I love lots of butter, sugar, and richness of a delicious cupcake. I have yet to find a vegan cupcake that wows me. I'll continue my search...

Mickey Mouse Cupcake Ears

More Walt Disney World cupcake sightings!

Spotted these Mickey Mouse muffin molds at a baking store at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World. Of course they can also be used for cupcakes. How cute would these cupcakes be?!

Darth Vader Cupcake Shirt

My friend Angry Julie surprised me with an early birthday present and I have to admit that I'm in LOVE!

"Come to the dark side. We have cupcake." I love this shirt from Her Universe, but after looking at the website, there so many other shirts I love too!

Julie gave me this shirt while I was at Walk Disney World a few weeks ago. It paired perfectly with my pink Sparkle Athletic skirt. Thanks Julie!

Vinylmation Mystery Bakery Featuring Cupcakes

Are you a Vinylmation fan? I guess I'm a little behind because I'm new to the craze.

At Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World there is a whole store devoted to Vinylmation and other edgier Disney items called D-Street. I pretty much fell in love with all of the Star Wars shirts there.

Anyways, I spotted this line of Vinylmation called Mystery Bakery. There are 18 collectible figures, each hidden by a cupcake frosting top. Each figurine is $12.95 each and are designed by Ron Cohee.

Disney Cupcake Ornament

I recently spent a few days at Walt Disney World in Florida and I found sprinklings of cupcakes EVERYWHERE!

I found this Mickey-themed cupcake ornament at Disney's Day of Christmas at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World.. Did you know there was a Christmas store open all year round there? I didn't, but it gave me the perfect excuse to start my Christmas shopping.

More Disney cupcake fun coming up this week!

Exhausted!

What a week! After traveling cross-country to Florida for work with my baby, working all day with very little sleep, and playing hard at Walt Disney World every night...I'm exhausted! Probably most of you can relate because lots of people do the same thing. But I'm certainly not used to it.

I'm so lucky to be a stay-at-home work-from-home mom. My company, Team Sparkle, travels around several times a year to sell product at running expos. Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun (especially when I get to dress up as Snow White), but it's tiring.

We survived our trip and got home just in time for the whole house to come down with the flu. It's hard being a sick mom with a sick husband and sick baby. I don't know how you all do it! But we are "enjoying" being at home all together. Have a great weekend!

Finding the Right Conditions for Eating Cupcakes

Last weekend I went to Walt Disney World for work (yeah, not a bad gig!). I didn't have much time to search for cupcakes while there, but my friend found us some to munch on while working. When I got a chance to try them, they were delicious. BUT I hadn't eaten anything else during the day and I was SO hungry.

So my question is: were these great cupcakes? Having the right conditions to review cupcakes is very important. I honestly can't say whether these were delicious or if a cardboard box would have tasted just as great. I'm headed back to Orlando next month, so I'll have to give them a second shot.

Guide to Cupcakes of Walt Disney World

I am a big Disneyland fan! My husband and I have been annual passholders since we started dating 8 years ago. As awesome as Disneyland is, I am anxious to visit Walt Disney World. I can only imagine how amazing it is!

I recently stumbled across this guide to Cupcakes of Walt Disney World. Who knew that you there were so many cupcakes available at so many places at Disney World! Now I really want to go.

Have you been to Disney World? Have you tried any cupcakes there?
