Your First View of Gourmet Churros

A few months ago I posted about Tennessee T-Cakes, a dessert that Springwise thought would be a good alternative to cupcakes. Well, they are at it again. This time, they think it is gourmet churros that will replace cupcakes.

Costco has the best churros I have ever tasted, as well as the best value. They sell for about $1.00 and you actually get double the amount of churro since it is twisted. But I digress, this article is about gourmet churros (or Spanish fritters). And boy do they look tasty!

These fried treats are available at Xooro, which has two stores in southern California--Santa Monica and West Hollywood. And you should see the flavors that are available...Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Coconut, Maple Bacon, Raspberry, Turkish Hazelnut, Mango, the list goes on!

But I can almost guarantee that churros will not be replacing cupcakes any time soon. For now, I plan on enjoying the Triple Chocolate. (And don't worry Jill, they have a gluten-free one just for you!)

Hi Elise! It's Apryl (your neighbor). A major must try for you is Joan's on Third in LA. I'm not sure if you've been there, but if you haven't you must go now. I love it. I have a love/hate relationship with cupcakes. I love the really really good ones and hate anything else :). These are by far the best! Please update me if you go.

Apryl-

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't been there yet. I'm like you, I am pretty picky about my cupcakes and try to only eat the great ones. Hopefully I can stop by Joan's soon!
